THE-Ranking: University of Cologne improves its position by one place

University of Cologne comes in at position 15 in national comparison, placing it among the top one third of German universities

The new Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking shows that the University of Cologne continues to perform very well in international comparison. It ranks 157 out of a total of 1,396 evaluated institutions. With this result, it ranks among the top eleven percent of the evaluated universities worldwide the world. Nationally, the University of Cologne came in at place 15 of the 48 German universities that took part in the ranking, improving its position by one place.

The Times Higher Education World University Ranking is one of the most influential university rankings and aims to assess universities on the basis of their main tasks of research, teaching, knowledge transfer and internationality. The results undergo an independent audit. With 1,396 evaluated universities worldwide, the 2020 Ranking is the most comprehensive THE-Ranking ever.
