Cologne Among the Top 10 Start-up Universities in Germany

In the German Start-up Monitor 2018, the University of Cologne ranks among the top 10 / the University’s GATEWAY Service contributed significantly to this success

The German Startups Association recently presented its Start-up Monitor 2018, in which the University of Cologne made it into the top 10. This recognizes the University of Cologne as one of the best start-up universities in Germany. A decisive factor in this success is the GATEWAY Start-up Service, which offers support and advice for anyone interested in setting up a company.
‘We believe that an excellent university will produce excellent start-ups. The University of Cologne is committed to creating the best conditions for development and growth for founders’, says Dr Rainer Minz, the Rector’s commissioner for alumni work, fundraising and technology transfer. ‘In a research-oriented university like the University of Cologne, many innovative business ideas emerge that need to be realized.’

The German Start-up Monitor represents 1,550 start-ups with 17,647 employees and 3,763 founders. That makes it the only comprehensive and differentiated study of the start-up landscape in Germany.
