Study in Cologne

The University of Cologne was founded in the year 1388 and thus is one of the oldest universities in Germany. With more than 44,000 enrolled students, it is also currently one of the largest German universities.

To ensure that you make the most of your studies here, we suggest that you prepare yourself well in advance for the academic and cultural changes you will encounter during your stay in Germany.

Our homepage offers international students up-to-date information on the most important aspects of studying at a German university.

You will also find detailed information about German language requirements. Information about visas, residence permits, financial aid, finding accommodations in Cologne and other related matters is similarly available under the heading 'Organise your Stay'.

You can also use our website to discover which universities offer your desired major, what documents you will need before you can apply to our university, and which deadlines you will need to meet during the application process.
