Professor Dr. Ludwig Kuntz

Vice-Rector for Planning and Finances

Professor Kuntz studied business mathematics at Karlsruhe University from 1984 to 1989. After earning his doctorate in 1991, he completed his Habilitation in 1995 at the School of Economics and Business Engineering of Karlsruhe University.

From 1991 to 1993, he was a research fellow at the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Economics at Karlsruhe University.

From 1993 to 1995, he headed a project for information management at Mainz University Hospital before he became head of corporate planning and controlling at Hamburg University Hospital from 1995 to 2002.
Since 2002, Ludwig Kuntz has been serving as a professor of business administration and health care management at the University of Cologne’s Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences.

Professor Kuntz is a research fellow for Management Science at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (UK).

From 2007 to 2017 he was academic head of the working group “Economics in the Health Sector” of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft e.V. Since 2010, he has been a member of the examination board of the Chamber of Public Accountants (Prüfungskommission der Wirtschaftsprüferkammer).
