Docfile – Online registration for doctoral candidates at the University of Cologne

What is Docfile?

Docfile is the online registration system for doctoral candidates at the following Faculties:

  • Faculty of Human Science
  • Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science
  • Faculty of Medicine
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science

Doctoral candidates at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities must register with a.r.t.e.s. access!

 

What do doctoral candidates have to do?

If you are a doctoral candidate you will soon be contacted by your Faculty (December 2017). You will be asked to register with Docfile and to enter some data related to your doctoral project. Should you not receive any information from your Faculty, we still ask you to register.

Registration is scheduled as follows

As of 4 December 2017: candidates at the Faculty of Human Science

As of 6 December 2017: candidates at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science

As of 11 December 2017: candidates at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science

As of 13 December: candidates at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Law

 

Please register by 31 January 2018 at the latest! The deadline for registration is 31 January 2018.

 

With your registration you support the University of Cologne in complying with novel regulations regarding official statistical reporting (Hochschulstatistikgesetz). Please go to this website for further information.

 

Why Docfile?

Docfile was developed in close collaboration with the Faculties, Graduate Schools and Deans‘ offices at the University of Cologne. The main objective is to offer doctoral candidates the best possible service for the administrative elements of their doctorate. In turn, the University of Cologne can comply with novel regulations regarding official statistical reporting.

Besides official reporting Docfile will offer the following features for doctoral candidates (presumably in spring 2018):

  • Update personal and contact data online
  • Access to a pool of documents related to doctoral projects
  • Automated preparation of printable forms
  • Simple communication with the Dean’s office and graduate school

 

In addition, registered doctoral candidates have full access to all services oft he Albertus Magnus Graduate Center (AMGC)!

 

As of December Docfile will be accessible on this site!
