Liaison Lecturers for Student Discrimination Issues
The position of Liaison Lecturers for Student Discrimination Issues was newly created in the winter semester 2008/2009.
Every Faculty (with the exception of the Faculty of Human Sciences) has named a liaison lecturer. There is also a central liaison lecturer that can be contacted independent of Faculty membership. This person is also responsible for coordinating the Faculty liaison lecturers and dealing with issues concerning the entire university.
The liaison lecturers can be contacted in all cases of discrimination – on the basis of color, ethnic background, religion, gender, age and sexual orientation.
All liaison lecturers can be contacted by mail or by email (Professor Kaiser at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences only by mail), or by telephone. They will then decide whether or not to initiate proceedings and if the case falls within their mandate. If so, both parties will be heard separately and the liaison lecturer will try to mediate an amicable solution. Should this fail, the case will be passed on to a higher administration level.
All communications and inquiries are treated confidentially. After the first contact, a personal meeting can be arranged. Confidentiality is guaranteed as long as it desired and possible.
