Workload Survey

All degree programmes at the University of Cologne aim at enabling students to successfully achieve their degree within the standard course duration. Whether students are able to successfully complete their studies within the standard course duration, require a longer period of time or even abandon their studies depends on a multitude of different factors. A particularly important example of these factors is the workload inherent to a degree programme. Student workload is influenced by factors such as the number of seminars, papers or examinations of a degree programme.

In the Workload Survey project, the Evaluation of Studies and Teaching cooperates with faculties of the University of Cologne to develop a set of instruments that can be used to measure student workload. This set of instruments will give the faculties of the University of Cologne an opportunity to get an insight into the student workload of their degree programmes.
