Gender Equality

The funds of the Institutional Strategy for measures in "Gender Equality" were used, among others, for the re-entry programme, for bridging positions and for a mentoring agency's support for female scientists.

The re-entry programme enables female scientists to return to the academic profession after long absences due to nursing or a parental leave. Of 34 funded postgraduate and doctoral researchers, 59% received a post at the University of Cologne following this programme.

The Gender Mentoring Agency supports particularly talented female students and doctoral candidates with various offers such as conferences, funding for conference participation, advanced training or, for example, networking meetings. In the period from January 2015 to March 2018, 50 participants were supported through the Gender Mentoring Agency.
