Mission and organisation

The Evaluation of Studies and Teaching | Higher Education Research institute is part of the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching and Studies. Its aim is to explore studying at the University of Cologne, and in general, by conducting various types of surveys as well as evaluations and to utilise the results for quality development on all university levels.

Our tasks therefore include:

  • design, conduct and analysis of survey and evaluation projects with university-wide relevance
  • preparation of results for quality development in studies and teaching
  • networking and exchange between central and decentral positions responsible for the evaluation of studies and teaching
  • training, consulting and supporting other university members in survey and evaluation projects related to  studying at the UoC

The institute is divided into the following working areas: Campus in Dialogue, Quantitative Student & Alumni Surveys, Evaluation of Studies & Teaching and EvaSys Support.
